Daily Detox Juice

Through the books I’ve read and the research I’ve done, I have found that eating detoxifying foods on a regular basis makes me feel my best. Finding optimal health and wellness is a journey and I wanted to share this recipe with all of you because it has worked wonders for me. Enjoy!

 

This is my favorite juice, I have it every day! Not only does it taste amazing but it’s also packed with healing foods!

 

First start by juicing:

·      2 cucumbers

·      1 large knob of ginger

·      1 large knob of turmeric

·      1 lemon

(You can juice the ginger and turmeric with the skin still on! Just give it a quick rinse)

 

Add the juice to the blender with the following ingredients

·      ½ cup frozen wild blueberries

·      ¼ cup dulse

·      1 cup cilantro

·      1 cup parsley

·      1 tsp barley juice powder

·      1 tsp Hawiian spirulina powder

·      2 packets true grapefruit

·      Stevia

 

When I came up with the recipe for this book I wanted to make a juice that was detoxifying. I based a lot of the ingredients off of the Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie from Medical Medium. Since I have a lot of fruit in the morning for breakfast I wanted this recipe to be a mid-morning drink with a little less sugar. Below are some of the benefits of the ingredients in this smoothie:

Cucumbers are an extremely alkalinizing anti cancer food. They are high in vitamins A, C, K potassium and magnesium. They are extremely hydrating and are great for constipation

Turmeric is a powerful anti-inflammatory and blood purifier. For this reason it is extremely anti-cancer. It also helps improve the liver function, regulate menstrual cycles and heal gastrointestinal disorders

Ginger is a great food to aid in digestion and help ward off illnesses like the cold and flu

Lemons are rich in vitamin C and B complex. Lemons can clean the blood and the lymph. They also aid in digestion. Their high bioflavonoid content allows them to lower inflammation in the body and build the immune system

Wild blueberries are one of the most effective tools for detoxing heavy metals. They are one of the most healing foods because of their polyphenols, reseravtrol and amino acid content

Dulse is great for healing the thyroid because of its iodine content. Contrary to popular belief iodine actually acts as an antiseptic for the thyroid cleansing it of bacteria and viruses

Cilantro is also great for mobilizing  heavy metals out of the fat tissue and detoxing them out of the body. It is packed with more anti-oxidants than most fruits and veggies to keep your blood clean and support other organs like the adrenals, thyroid and stomach

Parsley is extremely alkalinizing and its powerful mineral salts drive unwanted acids out of the body. Parsley also provides an abundance of trace minerals to your diet including magnesium, iron, zinc selenium and calcium

Barley Juice Powder detoxifies the liver and pulls heavy metals out of the body. Supports alkalinity, digestive and cardiovascular health

Hawaiian Spirulina is not only detoxifying but also boosts energy and supports immunity
