Quick Stop in Amsterdam
Amsterdam is one of the coolest places I've ever been! To me, it's like a blend of London, England and Venice, Italy! Being in the city you get the coziness and friendly vibes of being in the U.K. with the charm and romance of Italy! Plus, there are some additional amazing cultural things that are specific to the Netherlands that you won't want to miss! For me some of the highlights were:
⁃ staying at the Conservatorium hotel! It was a music school that was converted into a hotel recently. The whole lobby is an open atrium with a really cool restaurant and bar!
⁃ The salads at SLA were some of the best I've ever had! After eating heavy Italian and Spanish food for two weeks all I wanted was a light lunch and SLA was the definitely the place to go!
⁃ Go to Vondel Park - it's beautiful with small lakes and creeks running through it and tons of street entertainment
⁃ Try Izikaya for sushi! It has the most incredible sashimi dishes and the truffle cabbage is unreal!
⁃ Visit the Van Gogh museum! The paintings are all so different through the different phases of his life, and the museum gives such a great tour describing the details of his life and how his mental illness affected his work
⁃ The duchess for drinks and dinner is the best place in Amsterdam for a more dressed up dinner! I loved "The Affair" martini and the fennel grapefruit salad! The table side ice cream for dessert is a must order!
⁃ Take a boat cruise on the canals, I would advise definitely getting a private tour for this one so the guide can point out all of amsterdams gems and you can see the city without so many other tourists! Cocktails on the cruise are a must
⁃ Stop at Juice By Nature for some guilt free goodness. As you all know, I'm a health nut and Juice By Nature has a ton of gluten free, sugar free options, an amazing matcha latte and incredible juices! I got one of everything
The only thing I wish is that I would have come during tulip season - but there's always next time
