Bod Pod/ Exercise / How we Eat
A couple of weeks ago I went to the spa at Red Rock and did the Bod Pod experience. The Bod Pod is a machine that you get inside of, so it’s non – intrusive. It really quickly measures your total body composition. All you have to do is sit in the chamber for 3 minutes or so while the machine calculates your body fat percentage. From there it will be able to tell you what percent is lean mass and what is fat mass. My personal results were 17% fat and 83% lean body mass. The results get even more personalized because the testing can tell you based on your body type (there are three), and your activity level, how many calories you need to consume and how many of those calories need to be carbs, fat, and protein! Not that I am going to live by the results, because you have to live life and enjoy, but it's awesome information to know about your own body!
After that Instagram story, a lot of you all asked what Victoria and I eat and how we work out. In that sense of lifestyle we're both so different. While I used to go to the gym and lift weights 4 times a week, I found that I really didn’t enjoy it anymore. So now I stick to either Vinyasa or Yin yoga 4 times per week, choosing the style based on my energy levels. For a little cardio, I walk my dogs around the neighborhood everyday. On the other hand, Tori likes more high energy work outs! She loves spin and goes to an awesome studio that recently opened in Las Vegas called the Ride.
When it comes to eating were both really different on that front as well. A couple years ago I chose to be gluten and dairy free. I also rarely drink coffee so I get caffeine from matcha lattes. Because of that, I get most of my carbs from foods like quinoa, butternut squash, and sweet potatoes. Breakfast for me changes regularly and includes options like
· Gluten Free Avocado toast
· Scrambled eggs with shredded brussel sprouts and butternut squash
· Almond milk yogurt topped with Purely Elizabeth granola
Tori loves breakfast as much as I do, so it's definitely a meal you can catch us at together! Before she heads off to her morning spin class she will usually enjoy a cup of coffee and one of the options below like
· Scrambled eggs with cheese and half of a bagel
· Overnight oats with chia seeds and fruit
· A quick bowl of cereal
