Tone it Up Retreat
Launching a blog has been an incredible experience for us, sometimes exciting and sometimes exhausting (very exhausting)! This was the perfect time to take care of my well-being. One of my best girlfriends (and fellow fashionista) booked us a weekend in Dana Point for a retreat with other power women and fitness enthusiasts. The Tone it Up Retreat was an ultimate girls trip focused on amazing workouts, inspirational events and adventures all in a beautiful beach backdrop.
The event kicked off with an amazing dinner and cocktails event for all the women on the hotel lawn in Dana Point. The views of the harbor were unbelievable and the company was even better. I really enjoyed getting to know so many women from around the country that all have the one common goal of fitness and a balanced lifestyle.
Now for the fun part (fashion!). For the kickoff dinner I went with a casual look by throwing on an easy for love and lemons two piece set. I love the beachy vibes that the little pom pom tassels add. Since it’s chilly in Dana point at night, I added my favorite saint Laurent denim jacket. I accessorized with my new Chloe bag (which I'm absolutely obsessed with) to tie together the entire look. The Heather grey is a neutral that goes with absolutely everything! Finally, I finished the look with my k Jacques sandals that I bought in St. Tropez this summer.
The next day was the real start of the retreat. We met on the lawn in the morning for a boot call workout - a powerful HIIT workout paired with a live DJ. For that power hour morning workout I wore a fun tropical leaf work out set from revolve with an Alo tank on top and my latest obsession for workout shoes ALPs (they are the MOST comfortable trainers I've ever worn).
After the morning workout we took a bus to a beautiful beach in San Clemente where I did a quick outfit change so we could go surf in the afternoon! I have only been surfing a couple times (I'm definitely not a pro) but it's all about getting out there and having fun! I put on my sporty mikoh bikini with my tone it up hat, but as soon as my feet touched the water I knew I needed to add my wetsuit by Cynthia Rowley... Who knew that fashion and wet suits would go together?! It was such a fun day being active my girlfriend, Brooke. After the surfing, we had a little down time to fashion up for the tone it up beach dinner.
It was so beautiful to have a private beach in crystal cove all to ourselves. For that night I wanted to get a little more dressed up so I decided on a lucy Paris maxi skirt I bought on revolve that really stole the show. To keep the look all about the skirt, I paired it with a simple Alice and Olivia crop top and matching Gianvito Rossi flat sandals. My light pink Chanel bag tied it all together, highlighting the colors of the flowers in the skirt. I felt so chic in this outfit! After the dinner we went to Maestros. Martinis and the butter cake are a must - and hey, when you're working out twice a day you need a sweet treat!
The last day of the retreat we did a 5K run at 7AM! I'm not usually a runner but I think I soaked up so much energy from the other girls. After the run, we needed to cool down so for our morning activity; what a perfect time to jump in the water and go paddle boarding and do a little yoga on the boards!
I have quite a sense of humor, so I wore a custom private party one piece. I love that they let you write whatever you want on swimsuits, sweatshirts and tees.
I had such an awesome time doing all these physical activities, making tons of new girlfriends, and learning even more about health and fitness. I would absolutely recommend going on the next retreat the tone it up girls plan - it was an experience of a lifetime!
